CBE students will write the Grade 12 social studies exam on Wednesday Jan. 14 using secure local school computers as they have in the past. The CBE continues to work with Alberta Education to support student success during the diploma examination period.
Letter for Parents about Alberta Education Diploma Exams
Dear Parents/Guardians:
At 9:00 a.m. this morning, we were alerted to a province-wide issue with access to Quest A+, a secure Alberta Education portal that connects students to their online diploma exams. This affected students writing the English Language Arts diploma exam.
At 9:30 a.m., with the support of Alberta Education, high schools were advised that some students would be able to log in to Quest A+, while others were not. They were informed that students unable to log in to Quest A+ should write the exam using local, secure computers, where possible, or using pen and paper.
We are in close communication with Alberta Education, which is working to resolve the technical issue. Further conversation is required to clarify the impact on students.
Please be assured that both the Calgary Board of Education and Alberta Education are doing, and will do, everything possible to support students and schools. We will advise you as more information becomes available.
