What can high school experience look like beyond the classroom?

Through Off-Campus Education, CBE students can explore career interests, gain real-world experience, and experience post-secondary learning while still in high school. Opportunities include Unique Pathways (UP) Dual Credit and Exploratory programs, The Calgary Trades and Technology Collegiate, Digital Futures Pathway, Work Experience (WE), and the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP), giving students different ways to connect their learning with workplaces, industry and post-secondary education while earning high school credits.

Whether the next step is post-secondary education, an apprenticeship, a collegiate experience, further training or the workplace, these opportunities help students discover their interests, build skills, and make informed decisions about their future.

About Unique Pathways

No tuition fee for CBE students participating in our Unique Pathways programs.

We collaborate with post-secondary institutions, industry partners and community organizations to offer a wide-range of unique opportunities for students. These range from practical, hands-on learning experiences in Exploratory programs to Dual Credit courses and programs that allow students to participate in post-secondary learning with the support of a supervising CBE teacher. These programs allow students to complete high school their own way, and set students up for future success by easing the transition to post-secondary learning and/or the workplace.

Work Experience & Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP)

Do you have a part-time job? Did you know you may be able to earn high school credits while you work? Through Work Experience, students can take their learning beyond the classroom and into a real workplace while earning high school credits.
