Calgary Receives Funding for 10 New Schools
In mid-March, the provincial government announced design funding for 10 new schools for the CBE. This funding is part of the 2025 provincial budget and aims to tackle enrolment pressures faced by schools in Calgary, which have seen a significant increase in student numbers since 2022-23. Together with the two schools announced in February 2025 and the three schools announced between 2022 to 2024, the CBE looks forward to opening 15 new schools over the next few years.

What Citizenship is All About
From kindergarten to Grade 12, CBE students learn the skills, knowledge and values to enable them to actively contribute to their communities. It is critically important for students to participate in our democratic society, learn respect for diversity and inclusion and how to be a responsible citizen. But what does that look like in schools?
