McKenzie Towne School Supports the Magic of Christmas

Dec. 20, 2017

Every year, McKenzie Towne School supports a charity of choice to demonstrate the characteristics of citizenship.  This holiday season, MTS students and community supported The Magic of Christmas.  This charity loads up magically transformed Calgary Transit buses that look like Reindeer Buses on Christmas Eve with gifts and volunteers dressed as Santa and his elves. These Reindeer buses deliver the Christmas spirit to homes and families that need it most.  Our school community demonstrated their generous nature by filling box after box of new toys and other items in order to spread some magic at Christmas this holiday season.  The students helped the Grinch's heart grow more than three sizes by adding a heart to the display for every item donated. Dr. Lorraine Slater, principal at MTS, and Grade 2 students add to the over 1,000 donations collected for the charity including toys and household and personal items for adults and children.
