Henry Wise Wood High School Hosts Veterans' Tea

​​CALGARY, AB – To help create meaningful connections in advance of Remembrance Day, Henry Wise Wood High School will be hosting a tea for local veterans on Wednesday, Oct. 18. This annual event provides students with the opportunity to interact with veterans and hear their stories and life experiences.

Students in foods classes have made the goodies for the tea and art students have made decorations and poppies. The school band will also perform at the event. A pop-up gallery with a collection of stories and mementos of war, called the War in Pieces and the Quilts of Valour will be on display, and representatives from the Veterans Association Food Bank will also be in attendance.

Media are invited to the celebration. Students, teachers and veterans will be available for interviews and photos.
