Dec. 17, 2017
On Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, PC Corp, in partnership with the CBE, hosted their 4th Annual Mitten and Toque Extravaganza!
This year the event was held at Patrick Airlie School. PC Corp showed up very early in the morning with a van packed full of mittens, gloves and toques in all styles and colors. Before the students started arriving at school for morning classes we had converted the school library into a mitten and toque store.
Starting at 9 a.m. students came to the library ‘store’, class by class, where they each were able to pick out a pair of mittens or gloves along with a winter hat to keep them warm when the colder weather arrives. Santa Claus was on hand at the event to visit with each and every child and to give them each a bag of freshly popped hot buttered popcorn along with a candy cane.
Marilyn Dennis and Richard Hehr, two of the newly elected trustees, along with Cory Spence, CBE Director, Client Technology Services, were volunteer Elves. Also from the CBE and volunteering as Elves were Tennille Cooper, Jackie Chapman-Brown, Sandi Snow and Tracie Keylock. Santa’s Elves had a very busy day helping approximately 250 students pick the perfect winter wear.
PC Corp staff (Tessy Pavlatos, Jesse Popowich and Eldon Morrison aka Santa Claus) were also on hand working the event and enjoying the laughter from the children as they walked into the library - having no idea what was waiting for them.
