Once a month at lunchtime, the Seva Food Truck visits the Penbrooke Meadows School and delivers a free lunch to the Kindergarten to Grade 5 students at the school.
Seva Food Truck is a charity founded by the Sikh community to tackle the issues of food insecurity and poverty and to help the community at large. By applying the Sikh principles of seva (selfless service) and langar (serving of free food) the Seva Food Truck works towards the well-being of all. It aims to provide services to individuals and communities without judgment, stigma or discrimination, through dignity and respect. The Seva Food Truck believes in humanity, community and the well-being of all.
On behalf of the students, parents and staff of Penbrooke Meadows we would like to say a big thank you to Seva and all of the volunteers involved in providing a fantastic lunch for these children.
