Shave and a Haircut – Raises Money for Kids Cancer Care

Jun. 09, 2022

On Friday, May 27, Andrew Sibbald held its 18th annual Big Brave. The event brought many cheers, smiles and tears of joy to celebrate students' efforts to support kids fighting cancer. Approximately 190 students signed up and fundraised to color, cut or shave their hair in this year’s event.

Kids, staff, parents and guests cheered on participants as the school aspired for another record-breaking total. When the last hair had fallen, the total money raised was $66,272.05.

Kids Cancer Care representatives were at the event to share the work their organization does and express their gratitude for schools 18 years of support! Amanda, this year’s KCC spokeskid, shared her remarkable journey impacting all of us with her touching speech.

The stylists from Great Clips were sensational at getting through the 58 students who either cut their hair or shaved their lid. Virgin Radio host, Andrew, helped to MC the event and get everyone in the spirit. We feel the best description of this event may be contained chaos!

Our school community’s heart and generosity towards others always shines through at this event. Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Kids Cancer Care, The Big Brave.
